Welcome to the online home of LiveKennedys, the Liverpool-based folk duo, mother Flloyd and son Roderick. They’ve been performing together for 4 years now, gathering a loyal following of local music lovers who appreciate the passionate storytelling of a good old traditional ballad, and the quirky humour of Flloyd’s musical take on life.
Here we are just after our gig at this year’s Threshold 2019.

Flloyd was born in Australia too many years ago to even count, and came to the UK in 1966, where she met and married traditional Scots/Gaelic singer Donneil Kennedy. They raised two gorgeous sons, Iain (who now lived in Seattle with his American wife and two gorgeous children – of course. Am I biased? You bet!) and Roderick who lives in Liverpool with his wife.
Flloyd is an actress, director, poet and singer-songwriter, a regular performer at Open Mics including Midweek Melodies (81 Renshaw) and the Cavern Pub, in and around Liverpool since she moved her in 2018. You’ll occasionally see her dressed up as Fairy Bessie, busking in Church Street for children’s charities.
Roderick was born on Tiree, Argyllshire (although actually Paisley Hospital), grew up in Glasgow, went to Glasgow Uni (B Eng), Princeton (M.Sc. Aeronautical Engineering) and Oxford (DPHIL . Plasma Physics.) He is CEO of Simul TrueSky Engineering with offices in the Baltic Triangle. He’s been playing the guitar and picking up on some of his Dad’s favourite ballads for quite a few years, a regular performer at Baltic Triangle events.
Together, as LiveKennedys, Flloyd and Roderick provide a unique acoustic musical performance.
